The Town of Vail is hiring a full-time, year-round guest service professional to help direct/implement guest service programs at our Welcome Centers which are centrally located in Vail Village and Lionshead. This position will work with the Supervisor to set the tone for delivery of five star guest service within the center and extending throughout the resort community through partnerships with the business community. The centers offer free resources, help with lodging, dining, transportation, shopping, day trip ideas, resort information and more.


The Welcome Center Associate II has the opportunity to meet and interact with people from all walks of life from all over the world. Our vision for this role is that we find a passionate individual who will bring excitement and innovation to the services provided by the Vail Welcome Centers. This is a year-round, full-time position.


The Welcome Centers are open 7 days a week.


Ability to make an impact:

  • Working with the Supervisor to provide day-to- day operational support as needed (such as scheduling, daily briefings, acting as point person for part-time staff and host questions.)
  • Supports the Supervisor in developing a guest service culture that represents the Vail community and our guests.
  • Serves as liaison between the Town of Vail, local business community and guests.  Opens and closes the facility, records sales, reconciles daily, cash handling, runs closing, daily and monthly reports.
  • Works with and gives direction to members of the Volunteer Host Program.
  • Continually looks for ways to improve performance, services and programs.

Daily responsibilities:

  • Provides helpful information to guests in addition to responding to guest inquiries. Offers suggestions and addresses concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Handles repetitive questions, scenarios and tasks with enthusiasm and professionalism.
  • Maintains a proper display of materials such as brochures, visitor packets, maps, etc.
  • Creates, edits, and oversees postings in the online events calendar, business directory and social media content in the centers.
  • Builds relationships with local businesses, knows store hours, product/services.
  • Tracks referrals and visitor numbers in order to prepare reports.
  • Offers eye contact, smiles, and engages with everyone who enters the centers.
  • Is alert to safety factors and facility maintenance needs.
  • Ensures Welcome Centers are clean and organized at all times.
  • Presents professional appearance including following dress code, personal appearance standards, and professional communications.
  • Other duties as assigned


Skills / Requirements

  • High school diploma
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience providing world class customer service.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and use a high degree of tact, discretion and diplomacy in dealing with diverse groups and individuals.
  • Proficient computer skills and general office equipment. Ability to prepare reports, use Microsoft office, and social networking sites.
  • Experience leading small groups and/or training employees is preferred.
  • Schedule requires weekends, holidays and is subject to emergency call in during emergency situations (IE: Vail pass extended road closure).
