The Town of Vail is hiring a Parking Supervisor to oversee the daily operation and implementation of current parking policies. This position will require a diverse set of skills including a high level of guest service, leadership skills and technical abilities to supervise a 24/7 high volume operation.   


Essential Job Duties:

  • Hire, train, schedule, supervise, and discipline, a seasonal crew of 16 to 21 employees who provide revenue collection, host services and traffic control. Responsible for prioritizing activities in Parking Division.     
  • Set operating performance criteria, evaluate results, and take corrective action to ensure a positive guest service experience on a daily basis.
  • Audit cashier reports, for mistakes and potential theft by employees. Complete proper revenue control documents and deposit cash collected.                                                                
  • Monitor lot counts at Village, Lionshead, Ford Park, Soccer Field, Ford Park.
  • Set up and monitor frontage roads for safe and effective overflow parking and appropriate traffic control to meet traffic needs.
  • Responsible for accurate and timely changes in Variable message signs to represent current parking conditions and communicating that with the police. Working Knowledge of mobile applications & dynamic sign messaging.
  • Enforce traffic code violations in the Town of Vail public parking lots.
  • Manage summer parking program in Ford Park. Must have extensive knowledge of “PassPort” Parking Operating system.
  • Appearance in court on a regular basis regarding parking tickets.                                      
  • Oversee budget and order supplies.
  • Must be competent with sophisticated computerized parking operating system, sound working knowledge of Gates, Exit Columns, Pay Stations & Coder assembly.  
  • Parking supervisors must have complete working knowledge of daytime operations and night operations and be able to perform both seamlessly.
  • Responsible for keeping accurate records/statistics with regards to parking operations. Communicated and provide accurate data to other managers. Directors, Town Council and Colorado Department of Transportation.
  • Comply with all Town of Vail safety and health policies, practices and procedures that prevent and mitigate human economic losses arising from accidental causes and adverse occupational and environmental health exposures.


Skills / Requirements

In addition they must meet the following requirements:

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, organize and motivate a large 24/7 operation.
  • 3-5 years experience Knowledge and/or experience in a related field and operations
  • Extensive, high volume cash handling / auditing experience.
  • Proficiency with complex POS systems.
  • Experience in a supervisory / leadership role. Including skills in hiring, scheduling, training and coaching staff.
  • Excellent computer skills with ability to learn new programs.
  • Hands on experience with trouble shooting mechanical / technical systems.
  • High School degree required; bachelor degree, college level coursework or combination of education and experience preferred.
