    The Town of Vail is hiring a guest service focused professional with a passion assisting others with technology and a desire to serve the community. This is a dynamic position where you will tap into your multi-tasking abilities in a fast paced environment supporting customers technical support needs. Responsibilities include listening, analyzing and troubleshooting technical issues surrounding but not limited to website assistance, password resets, audio/visual technology, and mobile device troubleshooting.


    Examples of responsibilities:


    • Serves as the IT liaison for internal and external customers on communication technology issues (such as website, social media, audio/visual services, mobile technology, etc).
    • Assists with troubleshooting and fixing small to medium size technology challenges across the organization, this may include systems, programs or devices.
    • Builds internal relationships to quickly and professionally respond to each request.
    • Provides primary assistance in regards to website administration, social media, e-communications, including content on the town’s web sites, administration of email databases and creation and distribution of e-newsletters.
    • Provides training for internal departments on user technology, including web site content updates, A/V systems, mobile technology, and office software.
    • Responsible for determining and supporting the technology needs of the Welcome Centers, including researching and acquiring computer software, hardware and peripheral equipment.
    • Provides technology support to council members, boards and commissions, public presenters, and staff during town council, board, and other related meetings.
    • Manages Audio / Visual technology for all Town of Vail facilities.
    • Program administration of Variable Message Display and Dynamic message display systems, Vail app and mobile devices within the organization.
    • Acts as a clearinghouse for general online information requests.

    Skills / Requirements

    The ideal candidate for this position must have a working knowledge of modern information technology systems (computer operations, audio visual systems). Knowledge of information systems requirements for installing and maintaining computer software, computer equipment and various business applications. Advanced working knowledge of MS Windows, Android, and iOS required. Must have professional communications skills, strong customer relations and act with empathy when dealing with internal/external customers. Strong problem-solving skills with proficient attention to detail and the ability to recognize and respond to customer needs is critical. Flexibility to work additional hours, if needed



    • BS/BA in a related field.
    • Minimum of 2 + years experience in multiple disciplines. 
    • An equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge and experience will be considered.

    Physical Demands

    • Constantly operates a computer and/or other machinery such as screens, cell phones, and audio visual equipment.
    • This position frequently communicates with internal/external customers.  Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
    • Constantly positions self to set up computers in offices, including under the desks and in the server closet.
    • Frequently moves Audio/Visual equipment weighing up to 50 pounds from multiple buildings for various events.
    • Needs to occasionally move about inside or outside.
