Have you ever dreamed of being a Police Officer? The Vail Police Department is accepting applications for a future Police Academy Sponsorship. Qualified applicants must meet or exceed all POST requirements and be passionate about joining our progressive police department. The ideal candidate possesses related work experience and a desire to provide community oriented policing in our resort mountain town.

Individuals selected for this position will participate in a 612 hour Police Academy in Glenwood Springs at the CMC Spring Valley Campus at the Town of Vail’s cost for the academy tuition and all associated academy related costs, excluding room/board, travel and food. Academy recruits are paid $37.00/hr during the academy and offered employment as a Vail Police Officer contingent upon completion of the academy, POST certification and a vacancy in the department. All other pre-employment requirements must be met at the start of academy.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate the aptitude to be a successful officer following training and alignment with the Vail Police Department values; Integrity, Excellence, Collaboration, and Leadership.

Upon filling a vacancy as a full-time Vail Police Officer you will perform the duties of a sworn law enforcement officer, as designated by the command staff under the Chief of Police. This position is responsible for enforcing laws and ordinances set by the State of Colorado and Town of Vail. Work involves prevention, detection and investigation of accident and criminal activities, security and safety of prisoners, protection for the public and maintaining law and order. Officers must be able to act without direct supervision in emergency situations.

Alguna vez ha soñado ser un Oficial de la Policía? El Departamento de Policía de Vail esta aceptando solicitudes para patrocinio futuro a la Academia de Policía. Solicitantes calificados deben poder cumplir o exceder los requerimientos POST y tener pasión por unirse a nuestro Departamento de Policía progresista. El candidato ideal posee experiencia laboral relacionado y un deseo por proveer patrullaje orientado a la comunidad en nuestro pueblo turístico montañoso. Individuos interesados para esta posición participaran en un curso de Academia de Policía de 612 horas en Glenwood Springs en Agusto cuyo costo de colegiatura es absorbido por el Pueblo de Vail así como todos los gastos relacionados, excluyendo hospedaje, comida y viáticos. Reclutas a la Academia reciben un salario de $29.00 por hora durante la Academia de Policía y al concluirla reciben una oferta de trabajo como Oficial de Policía de Vail siempre y cuando se hayan graduado, obtengan la certificación POST y haya una vacante en el Departamento de Policía de Vail. Todos los demás requerimientos de pre-empleo deben satisfacerse antes de comenzar la Academia.

Al llenar la vacante como un Oficial de tiempo completo del Departamento de Policía de Vail, según se le asigne por la Comandancia bajo el Jefe de la Policía. Esta posición es responsable de hacer valer las leyes y ordenanzas establecidas por el Estado de Colorado y el Pueblo de Vail. El trabajo incluye prevención, detectar e investigar accidentes y actividades criminales, seguridad y salvaguarda de prisioneros, protección del publico y mantener la ley y el orden. Oficiales deben poder actuar sin supervisión directa y en situaciones de emergencia.

We realize that to set the standard for world-class alpine resorts, our employees make all the difference!  That is why we are looking for passionate individuals who strive for excellence in all that they do. Qualified applicants must demonstrate excellent work history, a passion for community involvement and a desire to serve in a world class alpine resort town.  In addition they must meet the following requirements:

 

A successful, related work history.

  • 60 credit hours from an accredited credited college or university, BA or BS degree is preferred.
  • Demonstrate excellent public relations, guest service, communications, problem solving skills and a high-level of integrity.
  • Must be 21 years of age at the time of graduation from the academy.
  • All applicants must undergo polygraph, psychological, drug screen, background investigation and physical abilities testing.
  • Bilingual Speaking (English / Spanish) preferred.

  • 60 horas crédito de un colegio o universidad acreditada, se prefiere un certificado de BA o BS
  • Demonstrar relaciones publicas excelentes, servicio al cliente, habilidad para resolver problemas y un alto nivel de integridad.
  • Deben ser mayores de 21 años de edad al momento de graduarse de la Academia
  • Bilingüe que habla (Inglés/Español) preferido.
  • Todo solicitante debe pasar una prueba de polígrafo, examen psicológico, examen de drogas, investigación de antecedentes y examen de habilidades físicas.
