This full-time role (M-F) plays a crucial part in ensuring the safety and compliance of new construction, renovations, alterations, additions, and repair projects across our vibrant community.

In this role, you’ll perform detailed electrical plan reviews to verify compliance with the National Electrical Code and ensure our community’s health and safety standards are met. You’ll also conduct code inspections across various trades—electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and building—protecting residents and visitors in all types of Vail buildings.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Electrical Code Expertise: Interpret the National Electrical Code and other local building codes, ensuring every inspection meets safety and compliance standards.
• Electrical Plan Reviews: Conduct detailed plan examinations for commercial and residential projects to confirm code compliance for new builds, remodels, additions, and repairs.
• Field Inspections: Inspect construction projects for compliance across multiple disciplines (electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and building).
• Safety & Compliance Investigations: Respond to citizen concerns, investigate potential code violations, and post Stop Work Orders and Dangerous Building notices as necessary.
• Collaboration & Service: Work closely with team members and other departments, support the Town of Vail’s core values, and ensure excellent service to our community.
• Daily Inspections & Permit Coordination: Coordinate and schedule daily inspection requests across building, planning, and public works permits.
