The Town of Vail is NOW HIRING Lateral Public Safety Emergency Communications Specialists! 

$6,000.00 HIRING BONUS  

Starting at $35.73 - $41.36 per hour after successfully completing training (based on experience and certifications)

Position Summary: The Vail Public Safety Communications Center is seeking experienced Public Safety Emergency Communications Specialists who are excited about serving a dynamic resort mountain community and the surrounding Eagle CountyOur state-of-the-art communication facility is located in Vail, CO and dispatches emergency service calls 24/7 – 365 days a year, for 13 public safety agencies in Eagle County. Minimum Qualifications for Lateral Public Safety Emergency Communications Specialists: 

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience at a multi-agency Police, Fire, and EMS dispatch center. 
  • Minimum experience includes both a call taking and radio dispatcher role. 
  • Strong Public Relations, Communication, and Problem-Solving Skills, with a high level of integrity. 
  • A clean background, with successful completion of personal history statement (background check) and drug screening. 
  • Available to work a variety of shifts – including weekends, holidays and over-night shifts. 

 

Additional qualifications for Emergency Communications Specialist include: 

  • High School diploma or equivalent. 
  • Demonstrate excellent verbal and written skills. 
  • The ability to have emotional control in stressful situations. 
  • Strong computer and typing skills. 
  • Spanish language skills are a plus.
